Wantable Accessories Collection – September 2016

Tags

I got my September Wantable Accessories box late this month. I skipped it because of the move, but then I couldn’t help myself and ordered it before the October Collection came out (which is currently on its way here too). This month my stylist went in a different direction, and sent most accessories and only one piece of jewelry. Continue reading

Fur Vest and Gold Stripes + We are Fashion Linkup

It’s starting to cool down in Minnesota! When we arrived it was like walking around in warm bathwater (which I loved, but Kyle didn’t enjoy because of carrying boxes up to our apartment) and for the past couple of weeks the weather has been mostly hot and sunny. We did have one outrageous thunderstorm though! I’ve never seen lightening look like a constant strobe light before. Now it’s been raining more and the temperatures are lower. On the bright side, I can wear my fall clothes without roasting. Continue reading

Children’s Fashion that’s a Cup of Tea

Tea Collection is one of my favorite brands for children’s clothing. They brings worldwide culture and modern design to children’s fashion. Twice a year Tea travels to a new place around the world, gathering inspiration, and then they design and create a new collection that expresses the spirit of the place. I love to buy Tea clothing for my son because I love the designs and the quality. It’s refreshing to buy something that isn’t the mass-produced, primary-colored clothing that is the standard in children’s fashion.

Here is Grayson in the latest outfit I purchased from Tea. Continue reading

Kyle’s First Fix

That’s right folks. Stitch Fix is now for men. As a longtime subscriber of Stitch Fix myself, I of course forced persuaded Kyle to give it a try. We sat down together to fill out his style profile and request a fix.

How Stitch Fix Men Works:

  • Sign up for Stitch Fix and fill out their style profile. At the end of the profile there is also a ‘note’ where you can tell your stylist what you’re looking for.
  • A stylist will choose five items and send them to you. In addition to clothing you can receive accessories and shoes.
  • Stitch Fix charges a $20 styling fee which will be credited toward any purchase.
  • Try on everything! You have three days to send back anything you don’t want to keep.
  • If you keep all five items you get 25% off!
  • Stitch Fix also sells Gift Cards.

He thought the style profile process was simple, and all encompassing without being too long or arduous to fill out. Kyle also informed his stylist that he works in a lab where he has to wear long pants, and that he has very big feet so if they send shoes to send ones that run large. Stitch Fix stocks men’s shoe sizes up to 13; Kyle typically wears anything from a 14 to a 16. Finally he mentioned that we live in Minnesota, and is looking for fall/winter appropriate clothing.

Kyle’s box arrived right on schedule! The feminine white and robin’s egg blue was replaced by natural cardboard and hunter green, and crisp, white tissue swapped for brown paper. Laying on top of the neatly folded and wrapped clothing was the note from his stylist. It read: Continue reading

We Are Fashion – Linkup #1

I don’t do fashion. I am fashion. – Coco Chanel

I find this quote to be very empowering. Fashion is not a set of rules and constraints that we have to fit into, but rather we are the ones who are shaping fashion. We are the fashion. I think that’s why the tag #iwillwearwhatilike is catching on.

When thinking up a name for this linkup I wanted something that felt like it was bringing us together. That’s what a linkup is supposed to do right? That’s why I thought We Are Fashion would be the perfect name. I hope you will join me!

Every week I will feature two posts: my personal favorite, and the one that generated the most clicks in the linkup. I will pin these posts to the Pinterest Board that I created just for this linkup. Make sure you come back every Wednesday to check them out and add another post to the linkup!

My goal for this linkup is that it will be small and intimate, so I’m requesting that you only add one post. That way everyone has a chance to be featured. Click the link below to read the rules and add your link. Thank you for joining!

Elizabeth and Clarke Fall 2016

Elizabeth&Clarke is probably my favorite subscription service. I’m sure it’s because I can only get a box once a quarter. It’s that inability to get what I want when I want it that keeps me hooked. After seeing the preview of the Fall collection I just couldn’t wait to get it! Especially because of one of the shirts. Before I show you the collection though, let me explain how it works. Yellow Shoes on a Stone Staircase

I bought these high-top Converse about two years ago, and I haven’t worn them much. I bought them for a Halloween costume thinking that I would wear them regularly. Turns out yellow shoes can be difficult to style. However, when I put together my outfit on this particular morning, they caught my eye and I just knew that they would be the perfect shoes to round out the look. Continue reading

Golden Tote September 2016

This has been a super busy month for me. We’ve been in Minneapolis for about two weeks, and my tiny closet is full to bursting. Therefore this month I decided not to get the 5-piece Golden Tote, but rather the Mini Tote with an add-on. I’ve been getting so many new pieces of clothing lately, I figured I should lay off a bit. Also… Golden Tote released another spoiler photo of their fall capsule collection on Instagram, and of course I’m going to get one of those. So I have to save room. Continue reading

Trendsend – September 2016

I was really excited to get my Trendsend box this month. I’ve been a huge fan of this service ever since they changed their styling fee to $1. Especially since now that I’m a stay-at-home-mom, I really appreciate the fact that they specifically tailor to moms, and I also really like that they send 2-3 outfits instead of just a few pieces. I didn’t get the chance to update my profile and include a note about what I was looking for, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. In this box I got 8 pieces that are ready for fall! I had some difficult decisions to make this month.

It’s here! Through all the stress of moving I actually forgot I had ordered this box from Bluum. When I signed up I got to pick all of the items that Grayson would receive. Even though I knew what the items were, it was no less fun to watch Grayson open the box. Here is an in-depth look at the items and, as promised, cute baby pictures. Continue reading
