I normally don’t subscribe to Boxycharm. I used to because Boxycharm is an amazing value. For only $21 a month (less if you buy 3 months or more at a time) you get full-sized makeup and beauty products. The only reason I stopped is because everyone gets the exact same products (for the most part) and I found that a little frustrating because I thought a lot of the things they sent weren’t good colors for me. Being a red head is hard sometimes. So instead I quit Boxycharm and started up Ipsy again. Plus Ipsy is cheaper, which makes my husband happy.

I still subscribe to Boxycharm’s emails, and they spoiled something in the box that I just couldn’t pass up…

An OFRA makeup palette! I had this palette sitting in my Amazon cart for a couple of months and just never pulled the trigger. When I got the email I realized that for just $3 more, I could get a makeup palette AND all of the other goodies that come with it. So I promptly resigned up just to get it.

The theme for this month was Modern Merbabe.

Inside the palette came six OFRA eye shadow pans. I love OFRA eye shadows. The colors are great; nice and neutral shades that will work with my coloring. When they’re applied I feel like they have really good coverage. After awhile the powder does rub off and get clumped up in the crease of my eyelid, but you can’t win everything. Boxycharm quotes the palette at $59 and say that the eye shadow pans retail for $10 each.

Boxycharm also included a Mally Beauty Rounded Blender Brush to blend the eye shadows. I don’t have a blender brush yet, so I was happy to receive one. I don’t really like it for applying the shadows because the bristles are so loose, but I suppose that’s why it’s for blending. This brush is worth $15.

The lip gloss by Noyah is ok. I like the color but I’m not sure it goes well with my hair color. I do appreciate that it’s made without sulfates, parabens or phtalates, and I think the bamboo packaging is pretty cool. This gloss is worth $16.

The PYT Hair oil treatment smells really nice, but like most oils I feel like it just weighs down my hair. It tames my frizz for a little while, but then wears off. Maybe if I use it more often it will penetrate my hair and help it over time. The bottle is valued at $30.

The awesome earrings in this picture are from Francesca’s and they look like the inside of a geode. I love the cool mint color too.

Overall I got some great eye shadows and a palette that I will get a lot of use out of, plus a couple bonus items for only $21. According to Boxycharm the box is valued at $120, which is crazy! I do highly recommend Boxycharm for their great products for an even better price.

Have you tried Boxycharm or any other makeup subscriptions? Which one do you like?
