Hello from Alaska! We have been here for a week and will head back to Washington tomorrow. Today Kyle went fishing, I got a pedicure, and then we all went to a local baseball game. Continue reading
There is a long list of fashion “rules” that I used to follow. I never, ever wore black with navy, mixed metals in jewelry, or wore denim with denim. However since I’ve been getting really into fashion, and have been reading blogs and perusing Pinterest, I’ve realized that a lot of these rules aren’t good rules at all. Today I am wearing denim on denim, which if done correctly can look very daring and stylish. Continue reading
Ever since I heard about capsule wardrobes I wanted to do one. There are just two problems: I love clothing and I love shopping. I have the most difficult time paring down to just 33 pieces (or however many) of clothing, and not shopping for three months is just impossible. Largely thanks to Golden Tote… This summer the three of us are going up to Alaska to visit my cousin’s family, and we are spending some time on either side of that trip with our parents in Washington. I figured this vacation would be the perfect time to test out a capsule wardrobe. Continue reading
So it’s not actually Wednesday. I do tend to lose track of which day it is during the summer, but I am aware that it is Friday. We’ve been so busy getting the house ready to sell that I haven’t left it much in the last few days… Other than running to the park across the street to play Pokemon Go, but that’s a different story.
I absolutely HATED chores while I was growing up. To be perfectly honest, I still hate them as an adult. Doing the dishes, laundry and vacuuming just aren’t my idea of a good time. I think this is probably true for most people. My son, on the other hand, loves helping us around the house (in fact if we don’t let him he gets upset with us).
Even though he’s less than 2-years-old he is performing meaningful jobs around the house. Not only is he learning valuable life skills and developing good habits, he is also gaining confidence and finding success in ways that are helpful to us. It also makes doing chores more fun for me because I enjoy them more when he is helping. Here are some of the ways that Little Man helps us around the house, and tips for how you can do it too.
Oops. So I was supposed to cancel Kyle’s subscription for Five Four Club last month, but it turns out if you don’t cancel by the 10th of the month you get a new shipment anyway. On the plus side, now I get to make him model clothes again! To see what Kyle got in May, click here. Let’s see what he got for June!
This summer has already been super busy and it’s only been three weeks! My new “job” as a stay-at-home-mom has been great. Little Man and I go for walks everyday, sometimes with the dog and sometimes by ourselves if we have errands to run. It’s even more fun when I have packages waiting for me when we come home! I’ve been getting Wantable‘s Accessories Collection for several months now (see my May and June reviews) and I love their cute and affordable accessories.
This month I asked for COLOR!!! Let’s see what they sent me!
When I woke up on Saturday it was chilly and rainy. Which wouldn’t have been too much of a problem except in order to prepare for moving to Minnesota we were having a moving sale this weekend, and the best place to display ALL of the stuff we were getting rid of was the yard. Darn you Pacific Northwest!
The middle of the week can sometimes be challenging. It’s past the beginning of the week when you’re energized from the weekend, but it’s not close enough to the next weekend to be excited about it. I mean, that’s why it’s called hump day right? Continue reading
